A pretty cool new search aggregating tool was released today from Google. Google Trends gives a stock market like graph of search volume for a specific term. Google Trends also lists media stories that used the term along the graph at the date when they appeared.
Here is the Google Trend for pinot noir.
For pinot noir there isn’t much correlation between search volume and press coverage, but for a more specific search term like “Mondavi” it appears there is.
This seems like it would be a valuable tool for wineries with well known brands to track the buzz that their brand is generating. I suspect they’ll eventually offer a pay version for business use in the not too distant future.

Nice find, Josh.
The “Top Cities” listing is interesting because it (potentially) shows cities where you may find customers. Will you be pouring Capozzi pinot noir in Denver?
