Conceptual Drawing of Capozzi Winery

A very rough drawing of the winery viewed from near our property line is to the right. The brown squares along the open face are trellises that will be planted to rose bushes. You can also check out a picture of the floor plan here.

Next week we’ll be taking these drawings up the hill to our neighbors for their thoughts. I’m fairly confident that we’ll get a warm reception (crosses fingers). The building won’t be visible from the street or from River Road, which is a designated scenic area, nor will the winery negatively impact our neighbor’s view. What they currently look at is an open barn and implement shed, so roses should be a vast improvement.

Other possible concerns might include the location of a possible tasting room, the number of trucks and tractors that will be around during crush and bottling, as well as traffic to the winery or tasting room. We think we have acceptable answers to all these questions, but you can never predict how others will respond.

Soon we’ll have our answers, and a very large and important step in the winery building process will either be completed, or we’ll have a huge new hill to climb in our attempt to build out our family winery.

Stay tuned.
