Joel Vincent from Vivi’s Wine Journal and Wine Life Today sent in the above pic of him, winemaker Paul Hobbs and Paul’s daughter Augustina. For those unfamiliar with Paul, he makes very well regarded pinot and is also a wizard with all sorts of other varieties including Cabernet from both Napa and abroad. Besides making wine under his own label, Paul also consults internationally. He also has a knack for garnering those coveted 90 plus point scores from Parker that make selling wine so deliriously easy. Obviously it was a treat to see him in a photo next to our shirt.

Paul Hobbs is a friend of a friend. He came down to my friend’s wine shop to hang out and meet some people during a tasting. It was freezing ass cold and I looked like a complete tool being the only one walking around in a t-shirt. A buddy of mine loves his chardonnay so asked him to sign a bottle for me so I can give it to him for Christmas. Then I asked, as I stood there in my Pinotblogger T-shirt, if I could get a picture with him and his daughter (who came along – Agustina of the “Agustina Vineyard” Chardonnay). Voila! Joel’s contribution to Pinotblogger campaign…
